Wishbone Dining Chair

Having been in production since 1950, there is a chance you have either seen or had the opportunity to sit in a Hans J. Wegner Wishbone chair. True to the original, there are 14 individual pieces that comprise the body of this reproduction. These create the varied levels of horizontal planes and the beautiful curving arches.

Wegner Wishbone Chair
The Wishbone (Y chair) design starts with a semi circle back that integrates into the highly curved rear legs. Four horizontal crossbars are placed below the seating platform. The 2 side crossbars are of even height while the front is placed on a slightly higher plane and the back is placed lower. The hand sanded frame is made of solid beech. Respectfully replicating the details of great icons such as the Wishbone chair is a significant task. The back of the chair features the signature “Y” wishbone feature. It is flat in shape and designed with back comfort in mind. The seat is hand woven of natural rattan providing a comfortable long lasting platform.
