A chair design that literally bends over backwards to impress, the Brno Chair was designed in 1930 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (known as Mies). Mies is regarded as one of the 20th century’s greatest modernist designers and architects. The chair was named after Brno, a city in the Czech Republic, and was first used within the Tugendhat House in Brno (the house was also designed by Mies).
